500 Global in Taiwan

The 500 Global Taiwan Startup Program with TTA, offered in collaboration with Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) as commissioned by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC)’s Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) Program, provided startups and innovators with local and global opportunities through 500 Global’s programs, curated events, mentoring and so forth.

Accelerating the next generation of tech startups in Taiwan

500 Global has run more than 80 growth and accelerator programs for over 3,000 startups worldwide. Our startups from 2021’s 8-week accelerator program have reported that the lessons learned during the program helped them improve their skills as founders which led to business growth. Successful examples include CreatorDB which reported a 500% growth in YoY revenue¹ and GoSky with a reported 400% increase in annual recurring revenue².
Working directly with global mentors, each participating founder had the opportunity to uncover deeper insights and develop a tailored action plan through hands-on workshops and mentoring sessions. Post-bootcamp, selected startups received 12-week tailored support online and/or in-person from 500 Global.

Overview of program goals

The program centered around a 5-day in-person bootcamp in Taipei designed to help pre-seed/seed-stage startups addressing global markets or international startups with plans to expand into Taiwan. The selection criteria focused on startups that had a functional prototype with early traction, or an academic team in Taiwan with a commercialization plan. Sectors highlighted were AI, Cybersecurity, or DeepTech, Digital Health, FinTech, SaaS, Semiconductor, Web3, and innovative and disruptive founders in other sectors.

Program overview

This program targets startups in the following industries: Maritime, Industry 4.0, Energy, Seaport Operations, Logistics, Shipping, Drones, Procurement Technology, HR, and Cyber Security

Pre-requisites

Startup Criteria

We looked for startups that met the following criteria:

Seed or Post-Seed stage and Israel-based
Working with a ready MVP in the maritime technology space
Able to commit to PoC and the entire duration of the program

The program Fee for Phase 1 is $35,000 per startup, excluding travel expenses. This fee covers the comprehensive support, mentorship, and resources provided throughout Phase 1.

By completing Phase 1, startups is expected to gain valuable insights, refine their strategies, and make informed decisions for successful market expansion.

Step 1

Submit

Once applications open, we'll share the dates to submit your application as well as the deadline.

The program Fee for Phase 1 is $35,000 per startup, excluding travel expenses. This fee covers the comprehensive support, mentorship, and resources provided throughout Phase 1.

By completing Phase 1, startups is expected to gain valuable insights, refine their strategies, and make informed decisions for successful market expansion.

Step 2

Review

The 500 Global team reviews all applications carefully. We will reach out to schedule an interview if there is a potential fit. Shortlisted companies will also subsequently need to complete the tender process required by Ashdod Port prior to selection.
