Paul Holliman

Paul is a prolific angel investor, with early-stage investments in nearly 400 startup companies, including 33 unicorns.   He is an active mentor for 500 Global and Alchemist Accelerator.  Paul was the first “Investor in Residence” at 500 Startups in San Francisco.  He has been a mentor for Andreeseen Horowitz’s Talent X Opportunity Accelerator and The European Innovation Academy.  He frequently speaks at universities on Angel Investing and Portfolio Theory.

Paul was Vice President, Head of Strategic Planning and Worldwide Operations for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures during his 30+ year career in cinema, where he helped pioneer Digital 3D and IMAX as theatrical distribution formats.  Paul oversaw the global transformation from 35mm film to digital cinema for Disney.

Kensuke is a Principal at Scrum Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in San Francisco & Tokyo that has invested in 100+ startups in a wide range of industries. Kensuke is supporting 10+ Japanese startups mainly in healthcare, AI, and B2B Saas industries, with one exit – Photosynth (listed in the TSE Mothers November 2021). Previously working at PwC Consulting, Kensuke was engaged in several iconic projects for pharma, food & beverage and IT companies in Japan and the US.

Principal at Keio Innovation Initiative, Inc.

Naoji Nomura

Naoji works for Keio Innovation Initiative, Inc.(KII), Keio University’s official venture capital, focusing on investing in various technology startups. Also, he serves as a board member in Aeterlink, Corp., the leader of Broadband Wireless Forum(BWF) TG6a-920MHz, a technical committee of Japan Coordinating Council for Wireless Power Transfer(JWPT), and a Search and Development Committee of IdP GAP Fund.
Prior to KII, he worked at NTT DOCOMO, developing wireless communication, battery, and power supply technologies. He was later involved in investments in Japan and US before joining the Innovation Network Corporation of Japan(INCJ), Japan’s largest public-private investment fund.
