- Asia’s first beanless coffee ice cream is now available in Singapore! Gourmet retailer Melvado’s new Coconut Latte ice cream features 500-backed foodtech company Prefer’s coffee alternative made by fermenting food industry byproducts.
- “This is a permanent product with plans to expand the lineup together,” shared Co-founder & CEO Jake Berber. “The launch is just the first step in what we both see as a long-term collaboration.”
- He added that their bean-free coffee is up to 10x more affordable and with a 10x smaller carbon footprint than conventional coffee.
- Prefer is currently available in 75 locations across Singapore, and they are actively expanding into new markets.
- Jake revealed that they are on track to cross 100 points-of-sale by the end of 2025.
- They are also scaling up production to meet the demand of $15M agreements with B2B partners, including FMCGs, ingredient manufacturers, and coffee chains.
