Sachiko Matsushita Ph.D.

Dr. Sachiko Matsushita received her B.S. degree (1996) and her Ph.D. (2000) of applied chemistry from the University of Tokyo. In 2001, she became a post-doctoral researcher of polymer chemistry at RIKEN. After her experience as a lecturer and associate professor at Nihon University, she joined Tokyo Institute of Technology, as an associate professor (2010). She proposed and developed a new thermal energy conversion technique, named semiconductor-sensitized thermal cells since 2015, awarded by ESG Tech Battle 2022 powered by NEDO, and started up elleThermo, Ltd., since 2023.

Maarten ter Keurst

Maarten ter Keurst is a Managing Partner at Natural Ventures, a Venture Capital firm focused on investments in technologies across the Water-Energy-Food Nexus.
He is a seasoned impact investor and expert in deal structuring, deal sourcing, portfolio management and fundraising.
Maarten has lived and worked in Asia for more than 10 years, spending time in Shanghai, Singapore and now Abu Dhabi.
Prior to founding Natural, Maarten was a Junior Partner and Investment Director at PureTerra Ventures, a water-focused VC firm which he helped build from the ground up.

Jay Desan

Dr Jay Desan co-founded BoomGrow because she believes that clean greens should be accessible to all. BoomGrow is a fast growing tech farming company on a mission to transform farming by producing 100% clean and nutritious goodness, introducing trust and traceability back into the food system through patent pending Machine Farms.
Passionate about food and sustainability, she has over 15 years experience in Environment, Social and Governance (ESG)  advisory and a PhD in standards of sustainability from Queen Mary, University of London. BoomGrow was recently inducted into the global FoodTech 500, the world’s definitive list of the intersection of food, technology and innovation.

Anthony See

A programmer and a former restaurateur, Anthony founded Food Market Hub 5 years ago after a few failure attempts in his entrepreneur journey. He has developed resilience to run his startup in challenging conditions through his past experiences in completing ultramarathon and ironman competitions.
As a big believer in the power of small and medium businesses, he always passionate about building sustainable and effective solutions targeting procurement for F&B businesses. The vision is to building a F&B open ecosystem which utilises food supply and demand data to drive the market in achieving zero wastage and fair price trading. The vision is aligned with national vision to achieve food security to make sure stable food supply under a green and scalable model. The startup has processed 1 billion USD worth of purchase orders annually from 5000 restaurants in South East Asia.

President of Real Tech Holdings

Akitaka Wilhelm Fujii

As president of Real Tech Holdings, Akitaka’s role is to enhance the societal and environmental impact of the company. He also invests and supports startups as growth manager and helps companies with all talent manners as team developer.
Before joining Real Tech Holdings in 2020, he was at EIT Climate-KIC, a European organization that transforms ideas into climate-addressing businesses. While at the company, Akitaka evaluated more than 200 startups for grants and evaluated their environmental impact, making him an expert in frontier innovations addressing climate change. He was involved in recruitment and team building, where he implemented an employee engagement program to improve sustainability from within the EIT community.
Akitaka has a master’s degree in International Studies from the University of Tokyo.
